Standing atop a recumbent ox, this imposing Chinese sancai-glazed pottery figure of a Lokapala captures the fierce presence of a guardian deity. His elaborately modeled armor and expressive features are brought to life through amber, green, and cream glazes.

At over 34 inches tall, the figure makes a commanding statement while offering a remarkable glimpse into the artistry of Tang Dynasty China.
