More people found an arts nonprofit through search.

Visits from search rose 21% in two weeks. That compares September 4 to 17 with September 18 to October 1.

The rise was steady, not a one-day spike. The start of the fall season may play a part too.

Who else could see this kind of result:
• Arts and cultural organizations selling tickets online
• Museums and galleries with events and memberships
• Nonprofits that depend on local visitors
• Theaters and music groups with a season to fill

After years of manual posting, this magazine’s inbox now drafts the posts.

A lifestyle blog receives stories from its writers by email. Each one has to become a post on the site, with the right featured image, and each writer gets an invoice. That’s a lot of human labor.

So we built a system that handles ALL of that.

How it works:
1. It listens for writers’ emails.
2. It drafts the post on the magazine’s site.
3. It adds a fitting featured image.
4. It sends the writer a PayPal or Stripe invoice.

Who else could use this:
• Associations that publish member stories
• Blogs with guest contributors
• Newsletters that take submissions
• Online magazines and publications
• Publishers that bill their contributors

What still gets copied out of your inbox by hand every week?

Renaming a brand people already know is hard… But renaming it when it was not an expected shift can be harder; everyone has an opinion, and a board still has to say yes.

This week I delivered the final logos to a town’s development group. The new name, the color boards, and the logo on merch and clothing… all ready for their board meeting.

How it works:

We settle the name after a LOT of research.
I refined the logo and an icon mark until both felt right.
I built color boards that show the palette on light and dark backgrounds.
I put the brand on merch and clothing mockups, so the style board can represent the effect of the new look.

Who else could use this:

Chambers of commerce
Downtown business districts
Main Street programs
Nonprofits that have outgrown their name
Tourism offices

If you could start fresh… what would you rename?

A new brand name is verified first.

Picking a new name feels like the fun part.
Then you buy the domain, print the cards, and find out someone already filed for something close.
Fixing that costs far more than a few days of research.

This week we finished name research for 3 separate clients planning a new name.

How it works:
1. We review the name across the most important digital and business channels.
2. Then we look for potential conflicts, confusing similarities, and issues that could become expensive later.
3. We assess the findings and identify anything that warrants additional legal review.
4. Lastly, we deliver a clear summary of what we found, the level of concern, and the recommended next steps for you or your attorney.

This one turned up a pending trademark close enough that an attorney should look before anyone buys a domain. Better to know now than after launch.

Who else could use this:
• Coaches launching a new program
• Founders naming a new company
• Nonprofits planning a rebrand
• Practices changing their name
• Product makers naming a new line

Have you ever fallen for a name before checking if it was taken?

Wikipedia shows up in nearly 1 in 6 ChatGPT conversations that include sources. And almost all large language models train on Wikipedia data.

So when a buyer asks AI about your company or your CEO, Wikipedia often shapes the answer.
A well-sourced page gives search engines and AI tools one neutral, consistent account of who you are.

You can’t buy one, though. You have to qualify.

Here’s a five-step test, built from Wikipedia’s own rules:

1️⃣ List every article ever written about your company.
2️⃣ Strike out press releases and stories built from them.
3️⃣ Strike out sponsored posts and contributor columns with no real editor.
4️⃣ Strike out “best of” and “top 100” lists.
5️⃣ Strike out anything you or your people published.

What’s left?

If the list is short, you’re not ready for Wikipedia yet. Your next investment is earned coverage, not an editor.

That filter comes straight from Wikipedia’s own company notability guideline.

The full guide below is worth your time for three reasons:

1. It explains why this matters more now. The Wikimedia Foundation says almost all large language models train on Wikipedia data, so its version of your company shapes AI answers.

2. It keeps you out of trouble. You’ll see the conflict of interest and paid editing rules, plus four red flags that tell you to walk away from a vendor.

3. It gives your team a plan. An eight-step readiness checklist your comms lead can start this quarter.

Legacy giving now shows donors two clear paths.

Planned giving is a big decision. Donors want to see their options plainly before they pick up the phone.

This week I published a new Legacy Society page for a performing arts nonprofit.

How it works:
1. Two ways to give sit side by side: a future gift through an estate plan, or structured gifts made during a lifetime.
2. Each path lists the specific options under it.
3. Donors can direct their gift to the program closest to their heart.
4. A printable intention form and a confidential conversation are one step away.

Who else could use this:
• Colleges and private schools
• Hospitals and health foundations
• Land trusts and conservation groups
• Museums and libraries
• Performing arts organizations
• Places of worship

If you give to a cause you love, what would help you plan a lasting gift?

Dropping the ball? Are your messages getting lost because there are too many channels you use?

Messages reach me three ways: Email, Slack and comments in ClickUp. Checking each one separately is how things used to slip by.

So I built one inbox for all of it.

How it works:
1. Email, Slack and ClickUp messages land in one place.
2. Each one shows who sent it and whether it still needs a reply.
3. A reply is drafted in my voice, and I read it before it goes.
4. Anything that needs action goes on a to-do list.

Who else could use this:
• Agencies and consultants with clients on several channels
• Customer service teams
• Nonprofits working with boards and volunteers
• Small firms where the owner answers everything

Which channel do your clients use to reach you?
