We are seeking a Norwegian-speaking language assistant to join our data team to help us optimize our current language data collection, annotation, and transcription services to Norwegian language and culture.

You will work in a fast-paced and exciting remote environment on a variety of language tasks, which are described in more detail below.
The working schedules for this role are flexible. All work can be completed remotely.

Responsibilities for this position include:

-Collecting written data from various online sources in Norwegian (and sometimes also in English).

-Providing some light market research on various industries in the Norwegian market (e.g., is it common to order fast food delivery in Norway, does it depend on where in the country you live.)

-Recording short pre-written phrases in Norwegian as well as one-sided conversations with a phone bot that follow various scenarios we will give you (e.g., ask the bot to find the nearest pharmacy)

-Transcribing previously recorded Norwegian audio clips at the word level (not a phonetic transcription).

-Some light English-> Norwegian translation

-Data annotation (identifying certain entities in texts)

You would be an ideal candidate if you:

-You enjoy working with language data

-Speak Norwegian natively or very proficiently

-Have strong knowledge of Norwegian culture

-Perform well with detail oriented tasks

-Have experience successfully meeting deadlines

-Enjoy working in an independent, remote environment

-We prefer, but don't require, university degrees (equivalent of Bachelor level)
