Vegas trip Part 2: Listen to the video and enjoy the pictures.
Friends came to the book talk with pictures I had forgotten.

Pg. 42: “Someone Has to be the First”. When I announced that I was moving to Vegas, people laughed. “You know you are short and Black, right?” Very few shows took short dancers, and most did not take Black dancers.

Within 3 months, I had 2 dance job offers, worked as an extra in two major movies, was apprenticing with the production crew, and secured a few modeling jobs.

Don’t let others project their beliefs onto you.
Expand the culture. Become the first. Create the path for others.

*Sorry you don’t get to see me in the classes, but I made it through 2 of them after 30-something years and almost thought I could come out of retirement. lol - Believe in yourself 😁

After the Astra TV Awards, I had time to spend with friends and to sign a few books in LA and Burbank. I even hit the new trendy coffee cafe, appropriately named LaLaLand, finished with a few meetings, then off to Vegas...

There is so much talk, thought, and confusion around how best to use AI. Someone told me I could submit my book for an award, and AI would evaluate it, determine whether I qualified to win, break it into sections, tally the results, and decide which category I qualified for. The results are in:

Keep Building

If you’re building something, remember: it’s your time, and it’s your pace. Not everyone will see your vision—and they don’t have to see it immediately.

When I said in Japan that I wanted to retire from dancing and open a theater featuring male dancers from the U.S. and Europe, many people didn’t see the vision. But I did it. And, in time, they embraced it.

Keep building. Keep moving. Stay true to your vision. What you see today may take others time to see tomorrow.
