Artist Jenny Holzer created customized artwork to celebrate the 125 Year anniversary of the famous ‘Women’s Walk’ aka Women at Penn, on the campus of the Pennsylvania University. A pathway with granite branches and curbs features quotations from women the 125+ year period since females were first enrolled at the school. Our team collaborated with the New York based artist and to visually guide visitors through the park.

The Brancusi Ensemble was commissioned by the Women's League of Gorj, Romania to honor the soldiers who defended Târgu-Jiu against a German force in 1916. The park was initially erected in 1934 and updated in 2004. The “new” lighting scheme by L’Observatoire Intl emphasizes the linear narrative while highlighting the individual moments along the axis. Lighting is emotionally charged, capturing intimate encounters with the sculptures. It casts dramatic shadows and emphasizes the seemingly endless column by fading out towards the top, allowing the column to disappear into the night sky.

Adjacent to the Wilshire Boulevard Temple in the center of Los Angeles, the Audrey Irmas Pavilion shapes a new presence for this busy city corner and frames the entry to the Temple. L’Observatoire International worked with OMA and Gruen Associates to amplify the urban presence of the building. The exterior is illuminated in a soft wash of light, shaping the building as a monolithic whole. It elevates the detailed materiality of its hexagonal facade panels, while underscoring the minimalism of the architecture.

Yale’s diverse and global student body will have a communal facility that is equally dynamic to host multiple functions at the same time, each space is highly flexible to respond to different modes of use during the day and night. L’Observatoire International designed the lighting of new and existing interior spaces as well as exterior façade lighting to articulate the beauty of the original building while giving the facility a strong identity at night.

L'Observatoire International has been invited by Belmont to restore and reinvent the lighting of the historical train carriages and participate in the adventure of "step onto a legend in motion" the Venice Simplon - Orient Express. Subtle accents and retail spotlights layer radiance, much like a painter in the Golden Twenties might have stroked his brush for more intricate charm.

Belmond’s timeless Venice Simplon-Orient-Express train reclaims the bygone glamour of luxury travel along Paris, Rome, Venice, and beyond. At the heart of its set of carriages is the signature vintage charm and innate opulence synonymous with the historic line. In collaboration with the Belmond team and Chef Jean Imbert, L’Observatoire International redesigned the ambiance of the iconic train’s carriages for a deeper, richer transport experience through location and time.

The space features three nine-metre high wooden pavilions made of ash laths, each housing the brand’s collections. L’Observatoire International was commissioned by Agence Search to create a master lighting plan for the renovations of the merchandising counters inside the Denon Wing and the Rotonde de Mars spaces at The Louvre, Paris. Upon entering the museum, La Rotonde de Mars becomes an important node of circulation and point of high interest for its historical ceiling murals and engraved sculptures. Our team sought to make both areas more accessible, convenient and welcoming while paying tribute to the history of the space.
