Connecting Communities to Philadelphia's Waterfront!

Wick Fisher White is proud to have been part of the recently completed Washington Avenue Connector, a major infrastructure improvement creating safer, more accessible connections between Philadelphia's neighborhoods and the Delaware River waterfront.

Working alongside Langan Engineering, Wick Fisher White provided electrical engineering design services for the project's pedestrian and roadway lighting, including power distribution and lighting controls.

The $9.5 million project features a new 14-foot-wide multi-use trail, improved bike lanes, upgraded intersections, enhanced pedestrian lighting, and new landscaping, making the corridor safer and more welcoming for pedestrians, cyclists, and motorists.

Our Senior Project Manager, Rachel Innella, attended the ribbon-cutting ceremony and had the opportunity to experience the improvements firsthand, riding her bike to the event and putting the new connector to the test!

Congratulations to the City of Philadelphia, Delaware River Waterfront Corporation, Langan Engineering, and the entire project team on this exciting milestone!

Please join us in welcoming Robert Bliss to Wick Fisher White!

Robert joins our team as a Project Mechanical Engineer, bringing more than 11 years of experience in mechanical engineering, HVAC, plumbing, and fire protection systems.

His diverse project background spans commercial, industrial, pharmaceutical, laboratory, data center, and higher education facilities.

A graduate of West Virginia University with a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering, Robert is passionate about his craft and takes pride in delivering thoughtful, well-documented engineering solutions.

In our next installment of the Misconception vs. Reality campaign, Senior Project Manager Rachel Innella, PE, HFDP, takes a closer look at the importance of understanding existing system performance before construction begins and how a pre-demolition TAB report can help.

Without airflow and system performance data from existing conditions, it can be difficult to determine whether issues identified after construction are new or were already present.
