Not more experienced.

Not less scared.

Not more financially stable or more certain or more ready.

Just... a different version of yourself that finally felt like enough.

I waited for her for 2 years.

She never showed up.

What showed up instead was a Tuesday where I just got tired of waiting and filed the paperwork anyway. Hands shaking. Still not sure I was doing it right. Still not sure it would work.

13 years later I've built something that's served hundreds of families in my community.

The version of me who filed wasn't more ready than the version sitting in that car. She was just more tired of the waiting than she was scared of the starting.

That's it. That's the whole thing.
