Starting today, August 31, TripShot is the new rider app for Navy Yard Transit.

If you’re a Navy Yard company employee with complimentary transit, you’ll use TripShot to access your mobile boarding pass. U.S. Navy employees, contractors, visitors, patients, and residents can use the app to purchase a fare before boarding.

Want to be part of what comes next? PIDC is seeking artists and artist teams to transform three historic Navy Yard anchors into permanent public artwork that honors the neighborhood’s maritime history.

Proposals are due tomorrow, August 26 at 4 PM.

The Navy Yard has transformed dramatically since PIDC began leading its redevelopment in 2000.

Kate McNamara, Executive Vice President of the Navy Yard at PIDC, recently joined WHYY to talk about how the former naval base has become a thriving hub of jobs, investment, and innovation for Philadelphia.

Today, the Navy Yard is home to 150+ companies and 16,000+ jobs across industries from shipbuilding and advanced manufacturing to life sciences and research.

And there’s more to come, with major investment, new jobs, housing, and expanded transit service on the horizon.
