We have partnered with the at Swarthmore and the Pennsylvania Department of Military and Veterans Affairs to present Six Triple Eight Day on March 9th at 2pm. Join us on campus to learn about the unit that restored morale to the battlefield during WWII. We will discuss the legislation authored by Napoleon Nelson to make 3/9 a PA holiday (https://www.palegis.us/legislation/bills/2025/hb1806), recognize local descendants of the 6888 and emphasize the impact that black / brown women have on the course of American history.
Reserve your spot at the event by claiming a ticket (https://www.eventbrite.com/e/six-triple-eight-day-tickets-1984561333371?aff=oddtdtcreator) and reach out to me at [email protected] with questions. Thank you for your patience as we ensured that this event moved forward and that these get the recognition they deserve.
A special thanks goes out to Dean Karima Bouchenafa for her leadership and desire to bring this story to the students body at Swarthmore.
