Dear Designated Municipal Floodplain Administrator/Floodplain Manager,

Info for County EMA Director & PEMA Eastern & Central Area Offices, DCED, Insurance, PAFPM.

You are invited to participate in a free flood proofing workshop for community officials being offered by the Pennsylvania Silver Jackets team on Monday, April 8, 2019 from 1:00-4:00 in the Auditorium (Room 10) of the Lebanon County and City Building (400 South 8th Street, Lebanon, PA 17042). The Silver Jackets team is an interagency group composed of multiple state, federal and local agencies with a goal of reducing flood risk in the Commonwealth.

This workshop will provide training on different types of flood reduction measures from the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers. The flood proofing discussion will include topics such as elevating buildings, wet and dry flood proofing, and relocation/acquisition. You will also hear about federal and state programs that may be available to assist your community with flood proofing measures. Federal and state agency representatives will be on hand to discuss other floodplain management topics such as the National Flood Insurance Program and the Community Rating System.

The target audience for this workshop is floodplain managers, planners, emergency managers, code enforcement officials, surveyors, engineers, and others. Attached to this email is a flyer regarding the workshop. Feel free to distribute this email and/or the flyer to others who may be interested in attending.

Certified floodplain managers will receive three (3) CFM CECs for attending.
