Volunteers' Week just wrapped, and your board trustees are volunteers too. They're usually the ones thanked last, if at all.
It's easy to overlook them because the work is quiet: reading the board pack, sitting on the committee, making the decisions no one else wants to make. But recognition is a big part of what keeps good trustees engaged, and what makes the next ask easier when you need someone to chair a subcommittee or stay on for another term.
The good news is recognition doesn't have to land in a single week. Our latest blog has creative, practical ways to celebrate your board year-round, from a quiet personal thank-you to public recognition.
