What a moment for Philadelphia — and what a moment for Alison Grove.

For years, we've watched the planning, partnerships, and preparation that made this day possible. Yesterday, it all came to life at the Grand Opening of the FIFA Fan Festival at Lemon Hill.
We're incredibly proud of Alison's leadership with Philadelphia Soccer 2026 and the thousands of volunteers who are helping welcome the world to our city.

In Alison's words:
"What a day, month, year — six (!) years, in fact — it has been. And here we are.

The Grand Opening of the FIFA Fan Festival at Lemon Hill was filled with spirit, joy, and soccer.

I am so grateful for the opportunity to work with Philadelphia Soccer. Some of us have been here from the beginning, others joined along the way, and together we've built an incredible team. I am honored and proud to be your colleague.

I am equally proud of our FIFA Volunteer Team Philadelphia — 3,000 strong. As FIFA says, you truly are the heart of this event.
Let's continue to show the world what Philadelphia does best over the next 38 days: warm welcomes, competitive spirit, love of all sports, and the grit that keeps us going.

And I would be remiss if I didn't thank my business partner, Melissa Grimm, for holding down the fort at Grimm & Grove Communications. It takes a village — and in Philly, we have so much more than that."

Congratulations, Alison. We couldn't be prouder.

We’re always inspired by the people behind the work.

Today in &Then, we caught up with Briana Winston.

As Marketing Manager at City Ave District, Briana is part of a broader effort shaping one of Greater Philadelphia’s most dynamic corridors—bringing together businesses, residents, and visitors through thoughtful programming and creative placemaking. Her work helps create experiences that feel welcoming, engaging, and reflective of the communities they serve.

What we admire most is her collaborative approach and the way she helps turn ideas into experiences that connect people to place.

We value our ongoing work with City Ave District and the many people who make it all happen. Briana has been an important part of that story for many years.

Step inside the conversation and get to know Briana.

When The Boston Globe writes the piece praising Philadelphia, you know you've done something right.

This week's Globe story on World Cup preparations says it plainly: Philadelphia is outpacing nearly every host city in the country — $65 million raised, 3,000 volunteers recruited, free transit for fans, a 39-day fan festival, and a marketing rollout described as smoothly run and drama-free. All while Boston is still finding its footing.

None of this happened by accident. It happened because a team of people in this city decided years ago — long before a single ticket was sold — that Philadelphia was going to do this right. Our own Alison Grove has been part of that effort from the beginning, and seeing her in the pages of the Boston Globe this week is exactly the kind of moment that reminds us why we do this work.

Philadelphia's secret wasn't budget or branding. It was the civic conviction that this city had something worth showing the world — and the communications strategy to make sure the world knew it. That's the work. That's always the work.
Go Birds. Go Philly. Let's show the world what the City of Brotherly Love is made of. ⚽🦅

Philadelphia Soccer 2026 volunteer kit launch at the Fashion District Philadelphia ⚽️

We’ve been close to the work behind this—and this is when it starts to feel real.

It’s even more meaningful when it’s our own team member helping to bring it all to life.

Alison Grove, Senior Advisor and Director, Strategy & Partnerships for Philadelphia Soccer 2026 and Grimm & Grove Communications Co-Founder, is part of the team helping build the energy, pride, and community momentum surrounding FIFA World Cup 26 Philadelphia™.

The volunteers showing off their bold, vibrant uniforms at the Fashion District make one thing clear: this is what it looks like when a global moment meets local energy.

At Grimm & Grove Communications, we believe that strategic leadership is defined by the ability to navigate transition with both clarity and vulnerability.

We were thrilled to partner with the City Ave District for our most impactful Empower Hour yet, featuring the incredible Tamala Edwards and Mary Lou Quinlan. Their "trademark" insights on career pivots resonated deeply—reminding us that a difficult professional transition is often the perfect window to reposition your brand and find where your personal joy meets market demand.

In our work alongside some of the region's most successful companies, we see time and again that the best leaders:

Ask for help when it’s needed to move the needle.
Pivot with agility when the market shifts.
View "failure" as a strategic regrouping period rather than a permanent setback.
Nurture a culture where teams feel secure enough to innovate, learn from insights, and thrive.

As a women-led firm, we are committed to leading the way in strategic communications by fostering these exact conversations. Sometimes the most important insight a leader can have is knowing that a setback is simply a chance to go on with better perspective.

What’s more fun than being part of a great team "behind the ropes"? Being behind the ropes with Philly legends and a program making a growing impact on the lives of Philly youth.

As a longtime partner of First Tee - Greater Philadelphia, Grimm & Grove Communications was thrilled to provide PR support for the inaugural "Links at the Linc" last week. It was an unforgettable night at Lincoln Financial Field honoring two icons who define the Philly sports landscape: Mike Quick and Merrill Reese.

Beyond the star power, this event highlighted First Tee’s mission to teach character-building and resilience—something we could always use more of in the world. Huge thanks to CEO William Hyndman V, President Michael Brown, and the entire board and staff for their leadership.

Check out the great coverage from Ariel Simpson at the Inquirer and the team at NBC10 Philadelphia! ⛳️🦅

2026 isn't just another year for Philadelphia—it’s our moment on the world stage.

As we approach the Semiquincentennial, the energy in this city is undeniable. From the 250th anniversary of the nation to the global spotlight of the World Cup, Philadelphia is proving exactly why it is the heartbeat of American history and future innovation.

At Grimm & Grove Communications, we are thrilled to be in the midst of this momentum, helping to shape the conversations and connections that will define this historic year.

We’re kicking things off at the 2026 Philly Opener, hosted by the Philadelphia Visitor Center Corporation. It’s a night to celebrate the community shaping our city’s future—including Governor Josh Shapiro, who is being honored as the 2026 Most Valuable Philadelphian.

History is happening right here. We hope to see you there!

It’s one thing to talk about "regional evolution," and another thing entirely to execute it with the kind of intention Bryan Fenstermaker and the City Ave District bring to the table. This recent feature in The Philadelphia Inquirer perfectly captures how the corridor—bridging the city and Lower Merion Township—is becoming a singular, walkable destination that balances work and life.

At Grimm & Grove Communications, we love sitting at the intersection of real estate and community storytelling, helping our clients amplify the projects that move our region forward. Partners like Mark Brennan of Federal Realty Investment Trust are integral to this momentum; their upscale approach to residential development proves that modern living is about much more than bricks and mortar.

As the District continues to evolve, this project is a clear signal of the caliber of development still to come.

First Tee - Greater Philadelphia celebrated impact, leadership, and community last night on the field at Lincoln Financial Field.

We’re proud to support their work building character, shaping values, and empowering young people to make healthy choices through the game of golf.

A special nod to iconic Philadelphia sports broadcasters Merrill Reese and Mike Quick—former Philadelphia Eagles wide receiver—whose voices have been part of so many Philly moments, and whose continued dedication to First Tee makes a real impact.

This is what it looks like when community shows up for the next generation. Grateful to be part of it.
