Last weekend, our beautiful Scarlett Faye soaked up all the sweet memories and excitement of her sophomore homecoming festivities! 🤍✨

Oh, how this girl has our hearts! Watching her grow into the beautiful young lady she is becoming is one of the greatest blessings of my life. I find myself constantly in awe of her heart, her beauty, and the person she is becoming. I couldn’t be more proud or more thankful that God chose me to be her Momma. Loving her is such a gift, and I will never take a single moment for granted.

My heart could burst with pride, but goodness gracious… can someone please tell time to slow down? I’m just not ready for my baby girl to grow up so fast! 🥹💕

Lean into the weight. 🍂

Not every season is meant to feel light. Some seasons stretch us, challenge us, and require us to carry things we never imagined we would.

But what if the weight isn’t meant to break you? What if it’s meant to build you?

We often pray for growth, greater influence, deeper faith, and new levels of purpose, but we don’t always recognize the weight that comes with what we’ve asked God for.

The truth is, there is a weight to the calling. A weight to the anointing. A weight to the assignment.

And sometimes, the very thing we’re asking God to remove is the thing He’s using to strengthen us.

So don’t be so quick to run from the uncomfortable. Don’t despise the stretching. And don’t mistake the heaviness of a season for the absence of God.

He may be developing in you the capacity to carry what He’s preparing to entrust to you.

Lean into the weight. There’s purpose in the pressing.

“Pick up your mat and walk.” — John 5:8

See, Jesus had already spoken the word of healing, but the man still had to respond in obedience. He had to participate in the very miracle he was asking God for.

And isn’t that just like us?

If you’re anything like me, sometimes it’s easier to wallow in our pain than to take the steps necessary to move beyond it.

We convince ourselves that we deserve to feel this way. That this is simply the hand we’ve been dealt. That because something happened to us, we have no responsibility for what happens next.

And before we know it, we become comfortable in our victimhood. Comfortable on the very mats that once helped us survive.

But God never intended for us to build a home in the places He called us to rise from.

Yes, what happened to you may have been unfair. Yes, your pain is real. And yes, healing is often a process.

But there comes a moment when we have to stop allowing our past to dictate our future.

We have to partner with God. We have to respond to His Word with faith and obedience.

The mat that once carried you was never meant to become your identity.

It’s time to get up, pick up your mat, and WALK.

What if loving God unconditionally means surrendering not just our plans, but our expectations of what life with Him should look like?

Sometimes, without even realizing it, we create an image of what a life blessed by God should be. What success should look like. How our prayers should be answered. What our families, careers, relationships, and futures should become.

And somewhere along the way, we can become more attached to the life we imagined than the life God has entrusted to us.

But unconditional love isn’t just about loving God when He gives us what we want. It’s loving Him when His plans look nothing like ours.

It’s laying down the image we’ve created and embracing the life He’s placed in our hands.

It’s trusting His heart even when we don’t understand His ways.

Because surrender isn’t just letting go of what we want. It’s choosing to love and trust God more than the outcome we hoped for.

Maybe the invitation in this season isn’t to keep asking God to make your life look the way you imagined.

Maybe it’s to open your hands, release the expectations, and discover the beauty of what He’s already given you. 🤍

Can you imagine the audacity of Jesus?

Asking a man who had been crippled for 38 years, “Do you want to be healed?”

Of course he wanted to be healed… right?

But Jesus wasn’t questioning His ability to heal him. He was requiring the man to own his need—and then participate in the process.

Jesus spoke the words that released healing, but the man still had to get up. He had to pick up the very mat he had depended on for years and take the steps forward.

And I wonder how often God does the same with us.

We ask Him for healing, freedom, breakthrough, change… while still holding tightly to the things that have given us comfort, strength, or protection in our brokenness.

Sometimes Jesus speaks the miracle—but we still have to take the step.

“Get up! Pick up your mat and walk.” — John 5:8

So maybe the question isn’t only, “Do you want to be healed?”

Maybe it’s also: Are you willing to get up and walk?

Fall is here, and with it comes such a beautiful reminder: change is not only beautiful, sometimes it’s necessary. 🍂

There’s something about watching the trees release what they’ve carried that reminds me—maybe we were never meant to hold on to every season forever.

Change can be scary. It asks us to loosen our grip on what we’ve known and step into what we haven’t seen yet.

If you’re like me, sometimes it’s tempting to cling to the old—the version of yourself you’ve outgrown, the comfort of a season that’s passing, the familiarity of what was.

But following Jesus means we are continually being transformed.

Some seasons are meant to bloom. Others are meant to teach us how to let go.

So as the leaves begin to fall, let them remind you that releasing what was doesn’t mean something is being lost. Sometimes, it means God is making room for what’s next.

Lean into the new season with hope. Trust what God is doing, even when you can’t fully see it yet.

Because He isn’t finished with you.

“And we all, who with unveiled faces contemplate the Lord’s glory, are being transformed into his image with ever-increasing glory…”

My home church is in a series right now called OFFLINE, and over the last few weeks, I’ve felt the Holy Spirit nudging me to do exactly that.

So, I’m listening.

I love my digital community. I love sharing life, leadership, faith, family, and all that God is teaching me here. But even more than I love showing up here, I want to protect the margin and presence required to hear Him clearly.

Sometimes moving His mission forward means doing more.

And sometimes it means getting quiet enough to know when He’s asking you to do less.

For this season, I feel Him calling me to step away from social media, quiet some of the noise, and create more room for His presence.

So I’m going offline for a bit.

I’ll be back when He leads. 🤍

I love getting the opportunity to travel and support this handsome man of mine. 🤍

I’m constantly in awe of the way he leads- with strength, humility, and a genuine heart to serve others well.

He doesn’t need to be the loudest in the room or the one out front. There’s no performance, no overselling, no need for recognition, just authentic, servant-hearted leadership. The kind that shows up consistently for his team and for the people they serve.

And behind that leadership are countless lives touched, people healed, and families supported as they navigate some of the most complex, high-acuity healthcare needs.

Faith isn’t just believing in God. It’s believing God.

Believing that what He says is true—even when your feelings, your past, your circumstances, or the voices around you say otherwise.

And that includes what He says about you.

You are chosen. Loved. Forgiven. His workmanship. A new creation. His child.

You don’t have to earn that identity. You have to receive it by faith and learn to walk in it.

Maybe your declaration today is simply:

God, I believe You. I am who You say I am.
