Congratulations to Moises, Juan, and everyone who worked on the paper, "Unveiling the unique interaction mechanism of herpes simplex virus 2 glycoprotein C with C3b," published in Communications Biology.

HSV-2 glycoprotein C inhibits complement by binding C3b. cryo-EM studies show that domains 1–2 of gC interact with C3b’s MG8 domain, revealing a unique mechanism of complement evasion distinct from other C3b interactions.
