Standing on Market Street since the early 1800s, The Lewisburg Hotel has long been a place of rest, conversation, and gathering — and apparently, the occasional foiled holdup. Cohere designer Mac Warren’s identity for its next chapter feels like an archive of the town itself — that deep forest green against cream, the blackletter logotype, monograms pulled from Pennsylvania Dutch folk tradition.

Since 1834, opening its next chapter in 2026.Opening 2026.

We are thrilled by the overwhelming interest in bringing more city-owned grocery stores to life! With grocery prices skyrocketing, this model is not only practical but essential.

The teams who brought the first downtown ATL grocery store in 20 years —Invest Atlanta, Savi Provisions and Mayor Andre Dickens, —collaborated on this public-private partnership to enhance access to fresh food. By focusing on areas with food insecurity, limited private investment, and abandoned properties, city-owned grocery stores can create a significant positive impact.

We invite you to share your thoughts below to help us identify the best future locations and key players for this initiative in your communities!

🎉 We made a bold move on our 15th birthday.

15 years. 400M square feet of transformed space. Countless stories of adaptive reuse and collaboration.

We’re celebrating by asking you to join in our shared passion for design with impact on the IRL map of the cities we love.

💡 To creatives with interest to join our coalition for the next city-owned grocery store project (and our pipeline of work) - we need you!

👉 Tag a creative who needs a reminder that their work makes a difference, and could be added to our database of talented people for our pipeline of projects. We’ll pick one lucky tag to send a thank-you gift and we’ll be left with a damn good team for freelancing in the future!

♾️The unique private + public partnership model is getting Nationwide attention. With 1,200 abandoned Walgreens and Rite Aids, the increased reality of food insecurity, and opportunity to wisely repurpose space that is perfect for small format grocery - Azalea Fresh Market is proof that it is working.
