Today I took an online AP-level U.S. government practice final exam, solely to ascertain whether practical and lived experience translate to the classroom. I scored 100%.
When earlier in my life I missed classes to literally work in the gilded halls of Congress, or missed class because I had to be in the Executive Office Building of the White House, or even when I was late to class because I was at my state legislature or county council meeting, I'm sorry.
Most practical minds agree that education is the cornerstone of progress; but not all education happens behind a desk, fifteen feet from a tweed jacket. At least in my experience, real education is best absorbed in the dragon's mouth.
High school U.S. Government and Politics Final Grade: 84%. Either experience matters or it's true: our education system really is about as useful as Congress.
