Diagnosed a restricted filter drier. I also found black oil in the system. Sign of contamination and possible compressor burnout. We can repair it, but compressor may not last. Would you repair for a temporary solution or replace the whole system?

This motor was installed incorrectly by someone else, causing the fan to spin the wrong way. 1.5 months later, it caused the compressor to overheat and short out. Now, it turns into an unnecessary high-priced repair.

I went to a service call today to give a customer a second opinion on repairs. She paid $20 for a "tune up special". Sounds like a good deal but not when the company is there to bait you in for unnecessary repairs.
