Clean means the last tenant's mess is gone. Show-ready means the next prospective tenant walks in and can picture living there -- no film on the glass, no buildup in the corners of the bathroom, no leftover smell, vents and baseboards handled.

A move-out clean that stops at "clean" still costs you the showing.

Property managers: the fastest way to lose a week of rent is a move-out clean that gets booked the day the tenant leaves.

Here's what actually shortens vacancy:

Scope the turnover before the tenant is fully out. Walk the unit (or have photos sent) so the crew knows whether it's a standard turn or a deep reset. Book the clean to start the morning after move-out, not "sometime that week." And make sure whoever cleans it knows your show-ready standard -- not just "clean," but ready for a prospective tenant to walk through.

A unit that's show-ready three days sooner is real money back in the owner's pocket.

If you've been putting off cleaning your bathroom shower glass - try this before you scrub. Wipe a thin layer of dish soap on the glass with a microfiber cloth, let it sit five minutes, then rinse. The mineral film comes off with way less effort.

Save the scrubbing for the grout that actually needs it.

Quick question for Phoenix homeowners - what's the ONE area of your home that always feels harder to keep clean than the rest?

For us, the most common answer is bathrooms (especially shower glass + grout). A close second: the strip of carpet right inside the front door.
