💜 The “Bag of Courage” brand was created over six years years ago when we attended our son’s college freshmen orientation. I was discouraged because the topic of personal safety was minimal. My observations of students practicing personal safety was even more disheartening. This was the birth of the “Bag of Courage” brand. While it took awhile to gain momentum, I am pleased to announce that so many parents, students, grandparents, aunts, friends and other loved ones have joined the band wagon and purchased the College Safety Kit available on Amazon. (Search “college safety kit” and two of our products are listed.) 💜
💜Most importantly, they have dowloaded our College Safety Kit on bit.ly/bocchecklist. It’s simple, just type this link into your browser for your free copy!💜
💜We just returned from our daughter’s student orientation and so much has improved. A Flagstaff Police and NAU police department booth was front and center promoting their visibility, their campus safety walks, the extensive blue light phone GPS system, and their NAU alert mobile app. Lastly, NAU’s results in the Clery Act were readily available for parents to measure and compare crime stats. 💜
💜Campus Health Services provides a wealth of information regarding the definition of consent, free 24/7 counseling and a mandatory on-line alcohol education and sexual violence training prevention module which students must complete before school starts or else they are charged $50.💜
💜As you know our mantra is Be Brave, Be Prepared. Orientations help do both! Make sure you do your homework and participate in orientations to ensure personal safety is top of mind at your student’s new home.💜
