When most people think about a “green” home, they think about energy efficiency, solar panels, and sustainability. This week, we came across several products carrying the Fair Trade Certified™ label—from coffee and chocolate treats to pet products. It’s a great reminder that certifications can help consumers quickly identify brands that are committed to ethical sourcing, environmental stewardship, and supporting workers and communities throughout their supply chains.☕️🍫🐶

As consumers become increasingly values-driven, certifications like Fair Trade, B Corp, and other sustainability standards can help organizations communicate their commitment to people and the planet while building trust with customers.💚

🍽️ Phoenix restaurant owners & managers — this is a fantastic opportunity to combine sustainability with cost savings while helping reduce food waste across our community. ♻️

The City of Phoenix Office of Environmental Programs is now accepting applications for Project REDUCE, offering $1,000 microgrants to support innovative food waste prevention pilot projects for local restaurants.

Participants can receive:
✅ Technical assistance from experts
✅ Promotion through the City of Phoenix
✅ Support implementing waste prevention strategies
✅ Opportunities to reduce operational costs while helping the environment

There is also an informational session on June 3 at 10 a.m. for restaurants interested in learning more and asking questions before applying.

Applications are due June 30, 2026.
