TheTransfers Are In Motion!

Join us as we go through the start-to-finish process of digitizing this 1980s 1-inch format video reel into an HD video format!

The 1-inch Type C video format was a very high-quality video format primarily used for commercial TV broadcasting during the late 1970s and early 1980s. It was superior in video quality to the U-matic tape format and comparable in video quality to formats like Betacam and MII. The Type C format gave a stable, more reliable picture than the broadcast quality analog cassette-based videotape formats.

Because television was broadcast as a composite signal, there was no real downside to Type C in television broadcasting and distribution. It had approximately 300 lines of resolution compared to High Definition that has 1920 lines of resolution.

Are women really into Polo players?

1986 Ralph Lauren's Women's Fragrances TV commercial advertised a $12.50 deal on the two rare "Lauren" and "Tuxedo" women's fragrances. Today, depending on the bottle size, a vintage bottle of "Tuxedo" or "Lauren" can sell for as much as $500

An old message from mom lost forever?

I received this tape for repair from a customer and was told it was a message recorded to him as a kid from his mother in the early 90s. He told us he thought it was a total loss. I took it apart and saw that it had gotten rusted in some areas, and the tape was stiff. It looks like it took on some water damage at one time in the past. In the end, even with the damage, we were still able to digitize the tape. 😌

If you have an audio cassette tape or video tape that needs repaired and digitized, we can help! We repair and digitize all audio cassette tape and video tape formats to WAV or MP3 files and transfer them to your choice of USB flash drive, cloud, or CD.

😄 Mark McGwire must have had that early roid rage going on with that reaction to that wild pitch!

Backstory: May 7, 1990, Jose Canseco led the Oakland Athletics to a 5-1 win over the New York Yankees by hitting two home runs and driving in four runs. The game featured high drama when Yankees pitcher Andy Leary hit Mark McGwire with a pitch right after Canseco's second home run.

In 2005, Jose Canseco wrote positively about steroids and claimed that McGwire had used performance-enhancing drugs since the 1980s and that Canseco had personally injected him with them.

At first sight, you might think this is some kind of anti-drug TV commercial or preview for an upcoming movie, but in reality, it was just a funny TV promo by Clorox for the release of their "New" Bathwand in 2005.

The Clorox BathWand was a specialized bathroom cleaning tool that could be used to help alleviate the back pain that came with having to hunch over a bathtub to scrub it clean. It was eventually discontinued and replaced with its sister product-the Clorox ToiletWand, which remains a staple today.

Did you ever own the Fisher Price PXL2000 "PixelVision" video camera?

In 1987, Fisher-Price released a version of a point-and-shoot toy video camera that could record video onto regular audio cassette tapes. It was sold in the U.S. for about a year with only 400,000 being sold before it was ultimately discontinued. It has been used in the making of a variety of low-budget films throughout the 1990s and is considered a collectible item with vintage film collectors and media historians..

If you happen to have a collection of these tapes and need them digitized, we are your source! AZDT is one of the few places in the WORLD (yes, the entire globe) that can digitize PXL2000 video tapes! It is even now possible to upscale these to full HD! Even though many of the "Merry Melodies" cartoons are considered timeless and can still be fun to watch, occasionally there will be references to obsolete technology and vintage media that the next generations of young people probably wouldn't recognize when watching in real-time.

In this clip from a Porky Pig cartoon, we have Charlie Dog trying to become Porky's pet dog, using any means necessary to do it. If you notice during the clip, however, Charlie Dog uses an old landline rotary phone to talk to the neighbor, then is later sitting on a couch viewing 3D stereo slides.

If you don't recognize what 3D stereo slides are, 3D stereo slides are a vintage photographic format that consists of two side-by-side images mounted on a single rectangular card, and when looked through a specialized viewer, would create a three-dimensional (3D) image you could look at. During the 1940s and 1950s, it had become a fun and popular way to view regular family photos.

If you have 3D Stereo slides that you would like to have preserved and digitized, AZDT can help! You don't have to have both images scanned to preserve the image since it still requires either specialized glasses or AI technology to re-create the 3D image.
