Have you started your new workout resolution? Swimming is an excellent way to get and stay fit. Most drowning or near drowning accidents in AZ happen during the summer so, naturally, pool owners tend to let down their guard a bit during winter. Accidents do still happen during winter & particularly during the holiday season. If your home will be host to guests during the holidays, take safety precautions around the pool. Some things you can do are to install a pool alarm, check your safety gates/locks, remove climbable objects near pool gate & check your pool fencing. Enjoy your holiday season and continue to watch your kids around water.

Brrrr....it's getting cold out there. Although pool maintenance is vital during the Summer months, it is even more important when it comes time to preparing your pool for the winter months. That’s why there are certain steps and guidelines that should be followed to help prepare your pool for cooler weather. Following these guidelines can help you to avoid potential issues that can cause costly repairs later.
*Check water chemical levels are within the proper range. The possibility of scale build up and corrosion can occur in the water while the pool isn’t being used.
*Be certain to keep the skimmer, filter and pump basket cleaned.
*Make certain that your D.E grids and cartridge filter elements are hosed clean .
*Cover your pipes if there are freeze warnings to protect them from cracking.
