Awarded Who's Who in the World, West, America, Science, Martial arts, PDAC Thayer Lindsey Award, National Rockhound HOF. Using geological concepts to find gemstones, minerals and precious metals. If you understand rocks and their chemistry, you can find overlooked gemstone deposits. But this site is not just about raw gemstones and their host rocks - it's also about all kinds of rocks: ways to use

rocks, the vehicles used to get to those rocks, and the people who look for rocks. I do not identify rocks & minerals from photos. It is not possible to test physical characteristics from a photo. Can you tell what kind of creamer is in a cup of coffee by looking at a photo of a cup of coffee? Now and then I like to add a few different things that tickle my funny bone. But those of you with dirty minds, keep the dirt in the mine. For those with dirty tongues, spit those words out somewhere else - we don't take kindly to dirty thoughts, words, or politicians. Be nice, smile, and laugh and don't be so da-gum serious! Me, I'm a geologist, author, martial arts teacher, artist, public speaker and former astronomer and professional musician.
