In 2010, the Arizona Rock Products Industry created a direct economic impact valued at nearly $1.6 billion with a direct indirect effect of $2.9 billion. The producers of aggregates, stone, cement, asphalt, and ready mix employ over 6,124 employees and supply essential materials to the construction industry that employs an additional 112,577 workers. The Arizona Rock Products Association (ARPA) is

a trade association that represents the interests of Arizona’s sand, gravel, cement, asphalt and aggregate industries. ARPA members provide the raw materials that make construction possible. ARPA began in 1957 as an advocate for producers of aggregates, asphaltic concrete, ready mix concrete, asphalt, lime products and the portland cement industry. Membership also includes associate members consisting of related transportation, contractors and consultants. ARPA has become and will continue to be one of the most influential public and private policy advocates in Arizona. ARPA‘s primary goal is to track key environmental, safety, transportation and governmental affairs and educate our members on the potential impact of current issues. Further, it is through intense political involvement at state and local levels that ARPA continues to make its greatest strides. ARPA provides the forum for key committees such as; environment, community relations, safety, transportation, concrete and asphalt technical committees and governmental affairs, whose work is the precursor to legislative initiative. ARPA provides substantial benefits to our members and the communities in which we serve and operate. ARPA supports numerous technical and educational committees focused on environmental, safety, quality and transportation issues and these committees form the nucleus of ARPA‘s aggressive participation in state and community affairs. ARPA and its members strive to work productively within the political and regulatory infrastructure in order to continue to improve the lives of others and invest in the future of our communities. ARPA, our ARPA CommunityARPA members and employees care about the communities in which we live and work. As such, member companies, and associations are active participants in charitable, educational, and social issues, and work diligently to ensure that the benefits of our organization and industry span the diverse social and economic needs of our State.

Yesterday was all about SAFETY! 👷‍♀️🦺

We had a great time at our informal Safety Recognition Luncheon, celebrating the companies and individuals who go above and beyond to make safety a priority every single day.

There was a lot of talk about safety yesterday, but one thing really stood out: safety is about more than rules and procedures. It’s about people. It’s physical, it’s mental, and it’s something we all have a role in protecting.

Thank you to everyone who continues to lead by example, speak up, look out for one another, and make safety part of the culture. ❤️

And of course, congratulations to all of our safety leaders! Granite Construction Vulcan Materials Company CEMEX Desert Ready Mix Arcosa Aggregates Salt River Materials Group
Your commitment does not go unnoticed.

Safety is not just something we talk about. It’s something we live.

• Amanda Stone with regulatory and policy updates from the Arizona Department of Environmental Quality.
• Ted Maxwell on transportation investments that are helping keep Arizona moving.
• Justin Ganschow on building a stronger culture of learning, care, and safety in the workplace.
• Derek Wright with an outlook on Arizona's rock products market.
• Senators Tim Dunn and Thomas "T.J." Shope, Jr. with a firsthand look at the 2026 legislative session and priorities for Arizona.

Freedom is built on a strong foundation - and so is America.

As we celebrate 250 years of American independence, we're proud to be part of the industry that provides the essential materials that build our roads, bridges, schools, hospitals, homes, and communities.

Every quarry, every load of aggregate, every ton of asphalt and concrete helps lay the foundation for the next generation.

This Independence Day, we honor the spirit of freedom, hard work, and the people who continue to build a stronger America - one rock at a time.

Happy 250th Birthday, America! 🥳🇺🇸

They appreciated the opportunity to build new connections, catch up with industry peers, and have meaningful conversations without feeling rushed. That's exactly what ARPA is all about!

Thank you for being part of our community and helping make this year's Convention one to remember.

And to those who couldn't join us this year...don't worry, we'll save you a booth (and maybe a few stories) next time. 😉

Water & Energy - probably the hottest topics in Arizona right now 🔥💧⚡

Our Future Leaders group had the incredible opportunity to hear directly from one of the state’s largest providers, Salt River Project, about Arizona’s future, water realities, energy growth, and even the truth behind all the water and energy speculations.🌵

We also selected our Make A Difference Project charity organization - exciting things coming soon!

Huge thank you to Fareed Bailey for hosting and facilitating such an outstanding seminar!

Another great Mining Stakeholders Meeting at the House of Representatives!

We heard a range of updates and insights across the industry. Jerry Bustamante shared an update on Hudbay operations, along with broader company and economic impact highlights. Sophie Dessart (Florence Copper) spoke on a very positive note about their strong connection to the Florence community and the pride they take in giving back.

A special moment as our State Geologist, Phil Pearthree, expressed his gratitude for 10 years of collaboration and support from both our group and the legislature, as he passes the torch to Brian Gootee.

Always valuable conversations and perspectives - looking forward to what’s ahead!
