💧 What Does Reverse Osmosis Remove?

Reverse osmosis (RO) is one of the most effective water filtration methods available. It removes a wide range of contaminants, including PFAS, heavy metals, microplastics, excess salts, and many other unwanted substances, giving you clean, great-tasting water.

A question we hear all the time is:

"Doesn't RO remove the good minerals too?"

Yes, RO removes dissolved minerals along with contaminants. However, here in Arizona, our tap water is naturally high in dissolved minerals.

The City of Phoenix's 2025 Water Quality Report shows:
💧 Total Dissolved Solids (TDS): 464–716 ppm
💧 Total Hardness: 172–302 ppm (10–17.6 grains per gallon)

The last time we tested our incoming city water at our store, the TDS measured over 800 ppm, which is above the City's published range.

While RO removes these dissolved minerals, they only provide a small fraction of the minerals your body needs each day. Most of your essential minerals come from the foods you eat, not your drinking water.
