🚀 This long exposure from last night’s launch is visually impressive. Despite being launched in Southern California late on Sunday evening, the Falcon 9 rocket was seen along the entire West Coast. The rocket was successful in completing its first ever launch and landing on the West Coast.

Captured by , this video shows an small active region on the Sun which grew to become much larger over time. Seen from Aug. 23-24, 2018, these active regions are areas of intense magnetism and are often the source of solar storms. The Solar Dynamics Observatory is used to understand the Sun's influence on Earth and near-Earth space by studying the solar atmosphere in many wavelengths simultaneously. -

Parker Solar Probe will be the first-ever mission to "touch" the Sun. The spacecraft, about the size of a small car, will travel directly into the Sun's atmosphere about 4 million miles from the surface. Parker Solar Probe launched aboard a Delta IV-Heavy rocket from Cape Canaveral, Aug. 12, 2018 at 3:31 a.m. and begins a 7 year long mission to solve the Suns mysteries up close.
