As 2023 winds down, I wanted to take a chance to recap my first year in business. As many of you know (or may not know), this was my first year operating my own consulting firm after having worked in a variety of campaign-and-political roles over the past five years.

I’ve always been fascinated by politics, but never imagined it would end up being a career for me. I can say that choosing to work in politics has been one of the most rewarding experiences of my life, and I can’t imagine myself doing anything else. I am very fortunate to have had the chance to work with and learn from, in my opinion, some of the best political minds in Southeastern PA, and call them my friends and colleagues. Without their instruction, guidance, and support, I wouldn’t have been able to start my own firm, and I would not have made it this far in politics.

When I started my own firm, I wasn’t sure how it would go, or if I would succeed (I did.) One of the goals that I set was mailing (printing the letter/other materials & folding them, stuffing them in the envelope & labeling/sealing it, & running them through a postage machine) 5,000 letters. I thought this was an ambitious goal and I wouldn’t meet it, but I am happy to say that, much like my other goals, I was able to meet this goal 5 times over and then some.

The 2024 Election is already underway, and PA’s Primary is only 115 days away. PA has a closed Primary, meaning you must be registered with one of the major parties (Republican or Democrat) to vote in the Primary. If you are not registered with one of the major parties, but are tired of feeling that you have no real choice in the General Election, I encourage you to update your registration and vote on April 23rd. You can find out more on how to update your registration on the “Election Information” page of my website.

In closing, thank you to everyone who has supported, guided, advised, helped, encouraged, and empowered me. I would not be where I am without you. I am very excited to see where this road leads and am ready for the challenges that lie ahead.

Also…I don’t really have any pictures of me at work, so enjoy some pictures of my office & the largest mail jobs.

March is Women’s History Month, and women are certainly making history in Pennsylvania Politics this year!!

Just yesterday, Rep. Joanna McClinton (D, 191st LD) was elected Speaker of the Pennsylvania House of Representatives, becoming the first woman, and the first woman of color, to hold the position. Over on the Senate side, Senator Kim Ward (R, 39th SD) became the first Female President Pro Tempore of the Pennsylvania State Senate.

While many things are uncertain about Pennsylvania’s Legislature this year, we can be certain that women will continue to make history in Pennsylvania in 2023!!

If you’re following PA Politics, today is a big day! Voters in the 32nd, 34th, and 35th Legislative Districts are heading to the polls to vote in Special Elections to determine their State Representative. Normally, Special Elections aren’t as closely followed as regular elections, but these three Special Elections have an added importance. The winners of these elections will determine which party has the majority in the House of Representatives, and thus who controls the Chamber. Democrats are expected to pick up these seats, based on the results from the November election, and will subsequently control the State House for the first time since 2010.

The results of today’s Special Election won’t completely resolve this matter, however. With a one-seat majority, expect there to be increased attention on any additional Special Elections, as well as the question of whether current Speaker Mark Rozzi will change his registration to Independent or remain a Democrat. Stay tuned for what is sure to be another exciting chapter in Pennsylvania Politics!

Hey PA, only 3 weeks left until the window to collect petition signatures opens, and the 2023 Election Season officially gets underway!

In PA, the first step to running for office as a major-party candidate is to collect a specific number of signatures from voters registered with the party whose nomination you wish to seek. Candidates have three weeks to obtain the required number of signatures, and they may also have other people collect signatures on their behalf. Once the signatures have been collected and submitted, there is a period of time where those signatures can be challenged, and if enough signatures are determined to be invalid, that candidate’s petitions will be denied and they will not appear on the ballot.

Whether you’re a first-time candidate, or someone who’s done this before, the petition process can be hectic and stressful, and if not done correctly, your campaign may end before it even begins. Send us a message today to schedule a time to walk through the petition process and get everything lined up so you are ready to roll on February 14th!
