I love the idea of clutter-free gifts, that are more experience-based than stuff-based. Our friends at For Sale, Free or Trade in Chester County PA are auctioning off tickets to see Flashdance, with the proceeds going to help an amazing little girl fighting cancer at CHoP. They would make a great early holiday gift!
WHEN BIDDING, PLEASE POST YOUR EMAIL ADDRESS AND BID AMOUNT
AUCTINO CLOSES AT 10PM NOVEMBER 7TH
PAYMENT MUST BE MADE BY PAYPAL.COM TO TEAM CARLIN'S ACCOUNT WITHIN 48 HOURS OF CLOSE OF AUCTION
Here’s a little about Carlin:
Carlin Rose is an adorable 4 year old girl recently diagnosed with Stage 3 Embryonal Rhabdomyosarcoma, a solid tumor cancer located behind her right lung.
This tumor was so large that Carlin had to spend 35 days intubated on a ventilator in the PICU in order for chemotherapy to shrink the tumor enough for
her lungs to function on their own. After being extubated and a few more chemo treatments, Carlin was transferred from her local hospital over two hours away to the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia so she could receive proton radiation treatments and ongoing care from some of the top doctors in the country. This Monday, November 4th, marked a huge milestone - Carlin had her last radiation treatment. Although she has improved tremendously, she has a long road ahead with chemotherapy through August 2014, and continued rehabilitation, all under the watchful eye of the team at CHoP.
In addition to having a wonderful medical team, Carlin is blessed with an amazing family. Both of Carlin’s parents are school teachers and she has an adorable little brother, Liam, who loves his big sister very much. Because of the distance and long-term need for care, Mom can no longer work and splits her time between the hospital and the nearby Ronald McDonald House. Carlin’s Dad and little brother make the trip up every weekend to spend time together in Philly as a family.
Your participation in the auction today will help offset the huge burden of out of pocket costs for all of these treatments and hospitalizations.
