~Prenatal care visit
During our meeting we dived into different comfort measure, labor position, birth plan and what to expect.
Teaching the spouse counter pressure to ease and relax momma as well as setting a calm stress free environment to relieve the love hormones called “Oxytocin” this will allow the uterus to contract which can help momma dilated as well as relieve some stress and anxiety!
Things your spouse can do to create natural oxytocin.
- Listening to music with momma while swaying/dancing
- Being involved with momma giving her back rubs, hip squeeze, counter pressure, gentle massage, holding hands many different ways to be in tune with your love one.
- Create a calm environment! Example: dim lights, candles, essential oils anything that can make the birth journey at ease less anxiety!
- As momma may be in pain, silence in the room can be a great benefit using your touch can help ease some of the tension!
