2023 Central Ohio Social Justice Awards!
What an honor, to be selected as a Social Justice Awardee, in Education Advocacy! Thank you, Terry Nunnie Green, and the Board of Directors of Think, Make, Live, Youth, Inc.!
Social Justice in education is ensuring that children of poverty, at-risk children, brown and black children, and GIRLS are introduced to and have every opportunity to explore, create, invent, problem-solve and SEE THEMSELVES, in the world of STEM. I intentionally partner with higher education, The Ohio State University, The PAST Foundation, The Black Physicians Network and more, to set students on a trajectory where indeed the sky is the limit, because they'll be shattering glass ceilings until they reach the sky! This work is never accomplished alone and I welcome the support of everyone, who demands greater and believes in greater for our children.

This evening, the Ohio Department of Education, the Ohio STEM Learning Network and Battelle recognized me with the distinct honor of being the recipient of the 2023 Excellence in STEM Leadership Award! Tonight was also the official announcement of our STEM redesignation!

Welp... though mentally tapped out, I came up with a theme: STEM Super Stars! My teachers indeed have earned every accolade! Earning our State of Ohio STEM redesignation is the shiny sticker after passing the test... trust and believe the teachers worked DILIGENTLY to provide stellar instruction, through the lens of Design Cycle teaching and learning; ensuring student success! Today was
🎶 "Hooray for Hollywood," and I borrowed someone's "chip, chip hooray" idea! Every day has a theme, and the teachers loved the kick off!

Tonight, I was honored by the Ohio Alliance of Black School Educators
(OABSE), as an Outstanding Principal and Administrator Honoree. Indeed, I consider it a privilege and an honor. Each Honoree tonight, brought a student, who was also acknowledged and received a scholarship!

What an amazing night! Our inaugural March Madness Staff versus Student basketball game was a hit! As you can see, our teachers came ready to win...lab coats and all! Building a staff where we learn, teach, grow and play together, is an irreplaceable part of the journey.
