Well the 2026-2027 School year has started! Brightstar Consulting is so PROUD to recognize our incoming Grandparents that will support Rosehill Elementary, adding Taylor Road Elementary this year!! We started with 6 Grandparents in January 2024, and now have grown to 20 Grandparents for the 2026-27 school year!! Check out our Stats, these Grandparents are killing it, doing their "Second Act"!!

Evidence of Success Since implementation, Rose Hill Elementary has demonstrated positive indicators of growth:

At Brightstar Consulting, we do more than support Veterans!! We provide business training and HR Consulting services to businesses in Central Ohio. One of our favorite initiatives is the Rosehill Grandparent's Program!

Brightstar developed this program to strengthen student success at Rosehill Elementary. We were recently rated #1 in the District in reading and math!! We started with 3 Grandparents in 2023, and have grown to 17 wonderful Grandparents who actively participate in the program. We are recruiting for the 2026-2027 school year!! If you reside in east Columbus, or want to participate in the program, we welcome you!!

Here is my new Headshot from yesterday during the Graduation from Accelerate HER sponsored by the Columbus Chamber!! I am so thrilled to be a part of this dynamic Cohort!! Congratulations to Principal Damicka Bates of Rose Hill Elementary School for being awarded the Ohio Alliance of Black School Educators 2026 Outstanding Administrator Leadership Award! She is one of only five administrators in Ohio to receive this esteemed recognition.

Principal Bates is an exceptional educational leader whose influence at Rose Hill Elementary and throughout Reynoldsburg City Schools has been transformative. With five years of experience in educational leadership, she showcases the organizational, technical, and interpersonal skills essential for success in today's dynamic educational landscape. In Honor of Women's History Month, I would like to shine the spotlight on my sister, Commissioner Erica Crawley!! I had the pleasure of meeting Commissioner Crawley a few years ago at a mentoring event for young girls. I learned that Commissioner Crawley is a mother, social advocate, and a sister veteran. She not only served her country with honor, but returned home to serve others in her community. She first served as a member of the Ohio House of Representatives, and now serves as a member of the Franklin County Board of Commissioners. She is the first Black woman Commissioner, and her commitment to serving every resident every day comes from her life learned experiences.

Commissioner Crawley is a proud Navy veteran and a wonderful public servant who works tirelessly to make life better for others in her community. Thank You Commissioner Crawley for your service which continues even today. You have set the standard high for others to follow, and we are grateful for your leadership! My new motto is "I roll with Erica"
