So sorry for not posting for a while. We are in the process of building a house, and I have not worked on any baskets for a while. We are doing most of the work ourselves on the house, so every spare minute is spent working on it.

Today, 8 women learned how to create a coiled basket! Everyone had a great time, and learned a new lifelong skill. It was so fun seeing each basket come to life with its very own character. They were all made from daylily leaves. Some chose to have the stitching material as Siberian Iris leaves, some chose waxed Irish linen of various colors. I taught this class through the Pine City Community Ed. at the Pine Center for the Arts. What fun!

Currently working on a special order coiled pine needle basket. Will post a picture when done. Next up will be a sample Siberian iris leaves coiled basket for the upcoming basket class at the Pine Center For The Arts. That class (see poster on previous posting) will be held on Saturday, Jan 25th. Come join me - let's spend a few hours making baskets and having fun!

Please join me at the East Central High School (Finlayson / Askov exit on Interstate 35) tomorrow for their Arts and Craft fair. It runs from 9-3. I will be there as a vendor. Apparently this is another big craft show - I have not been there before. See you tomorrow!

For those of you that may be a bit further north than Pine City, I will be at a craft show tomorrow at the Barnum Community Center. It runs from 9 -3. Would love to see Cathy Korby, Jess Paulson and LeAnn Paulson there! Barnum is one exit north of Moose Lake on the Interstate 35. Bread is baking now to bring with... the house smells wonderful!
