The beautiful fall spiders 🙂

Banded Garden Spiders (Argiope trifasciata) can be found in forest edges, pastures, and gardens across the United States. Their namesake bands make them easy to identify. Banded Garden Spiders build a zig-zagging stabilimentum in their web, but it’s not as distinctive as the the one built by the more common yellow garden (writing) spiders. Garden spiders may build the conspicuous stabilimentum as a method of deterring predators such as birds or attracting insects into the web.
