Hope to see everyone at the Pipestone Veterans Memorial Committee’s 2nd Annual 🇺🇸 Flag Day Picnic! Enjoy a 🍔 delicious meal for a great cause!

The Pipestone Veterans Memorial Committee is holding a 🇺🇸 🧺 Flag Day Picnic on Sunday, June 14th at Moore Park in Pipestone Minnesota as a fundraiser for the Memorial. Again this year, the event will include a Flag Retirement Ceremony to dispose of our community’s weathered flags properly and respectfully. And NEW this year, several of our community’s veterans will be presented with Quilts of Valor. Everyone is welcome! A great event to honor our veterans, celebrate our nation, and teach youth about our flag, the freedoms it represents, and the sacrifices of those who have served under it.

📣 Announcing our 2026 🌶️ Chamber Chili Cook-Off Theme …

It may be only be 🌞 Summer, but we’ve already had requests for this year’s theme. So, we are officially 📣 announcing that the 2026 Theme for the 🌶️ Pipestone Area Chamber Chili Cook-Off on Thursday, November 19th is …
🎄🎁🎅🏼🎬 Favorite Christmas Holiday Movies!!!

You are welcome to contact us to reserve your chili team’s theme at any time — as always, first to reserve & confirm their team, 🔒 locks in their Favorite Christmas Holiday Movie!

❇️On a related note:
The date of the 3rd Annual ✨ 🎄 Merry & Bright Night 🎄 ✨ Holiday Parade of Lights will be WEDNESDAY, December 2nd! It is our hope that participants in the 🌶️ Chamber Chili Cook-Off will have the option to incorporate some of their decorations, lights, and costumes for BOTH fun community events!!!❇️

Additionally, we believe that holding the parade on a Wednesday evening will be better than on a Friday evening (like the past two years) for two main reasons:
1. We hope to encourage greater participation, including by area churches with lighted nativity floats, choirs singing as carolers in the parade, and providing a fun activity for youth groups, clubs, or teams to use their creativity and collaboration skills to create fun floats and then ride/walk together in the parade!
and
2. There are usually fewer (or no) athletics or other school events on Wednesday evenings as opposed to Friday evenings.

🗓️ Save Both Event Dates:
🌶️ Thursday, November 19, 2026 🌶️
✨ Wednesday, December 2, 2026 ✨

Now, back to 🎉Water Tower Festival!!! 😉

Prairie Maiden Treasures — the Native American gift shop located Downtown and operated by the nonprofit Pipestone Indian Shrine Association — is temporarily CLOSED until Pipestone County Historical Society (who owns the historic building) has it examined by a professional to ensure it’s safe. Sadly, a section of stone trim fell down to the ground yesterday. Fortunately and most importantly, no one was injured — including the iconic Pipestone gargoyles who adorn the unique 1896 Moore Block Building.

The Pipestone Indian Shrine Association also operates the gift shop located inside the Visitors Center at Pipestone National Monument which remains open. Additionally, the nonprofit has a website for online purchases.
