During the past year we have taken steps to sharpen our focus to meet the needs of our unique business community by advancing our technology for the well-being of our dynamic and diverse membership. Nominations for the 2027 Order of George are due November 23! Know someone whose volunteer service and dedication have made a lasting impact on Piqua? Help us recognize their contributions by submitting a nomination for Piqua’s highest civic honor.

As we approach the deadline, let’s look back at our 2022 honoree, Marsha Koon!

Marsha has spent years giving back to Piqua through her service to numerous local organizations. From volunteering at St. Mary Church’s Lenten Fish Fry and Thanksgiving basket program to coordinating clients and home visits with Meals on Wheels, she has helped make a difference in the lives of others throughout our community.

She has also supported arts education through Piqua Arts, served with the Miami County YMCA and United Way, and dedicated years to the Piqua Community Foundation’s Pancakes for a Cause fundraiser.

Marsha’s many contributions reflect a lasting commitment to the people and organizations that make Piqua special. Congratulations again to Marsha Koon on receiving this well-deserved recognition!

As we continue seeking community nominations for the next Order of George recipient, let’s take a look back at our 2021 honoree, Edna Stiefel.

Edna’s commitment to Piqua spans nearly 50 years of volunteer service. Her involvement began with Breakfast with Santa, an event started by her sorority that brought joy to local children while supporting area charities.

Her dedication to Piqua continued through the North Parks Neighborhood Association, where she helped improve neighborhood properties and advocated for new playground equipment and a shelter in local parks. She also played an important role with Friends of the Piqua Parks, supporting improvements at Das Park and Pitsenbarger Sports Complex, including the campaign for the William H. Pitsenbarger statue.

Edna has also served the Piqua YWCA and volunteered with Mainstreet Piqua’s Taste of the Arts for 20 years.

Congratulations again to Edna Stiefel on receiving Piqua’s highest civic honor!
