Part Year Open Houses! 🎉

Our Piqua Head Start held their Part Year Open Houses today! We were so excited to welcome our families back for another amazing year. ❤️

Parents were greeted by Coordinator Shelley Coverstone and welcomed into each classroom, where they had the opportunity to meet their child’s teachers, explore the classroom, and learn more about what the year ahead will bring.

Families also had the opportunity to connect with local community partners and receive valuable information about services and resources available in our community.

Our staff and children are so excited to be back together for another year filled with learning, growing, friendship, and making wonderful memories! 📚🍎✨

On August 20th, our Busy Bees classroom hosted our first monthly Family Engagement Day of the new program year, and we were thrilled with the wonderful turnout! Families were guided by their children through a classroom scavenger hunt, exploring the many interest areas that make learning fun and meaningful.

Our Busy Bees proudly used their recall skills to locate each area on the hunt and their conversational skills to explain the rules, expectations, and activities available in each space. It was amazing to see their confidence and growing independence shine!

In addition to exploring the classroom, the children have been hard at work strengthening their fine motor skills through scissor practice and name-writing activities. We are so proud of all they have accomplished already and look forward to a fantastic year of learning and growing together! 💛🐝
