At Montrose Molders, our in-house toolroom keeps your tooling running at peak performance, right here on site. When a mold needs preventive maintenance, a repair, or an engineering change, it doesn’t leave our building or sit in a queue at an outside shop. Our toolmakers work steps away from the presses, so issues get diagnosed and fixed fast.

Why it matters:
🔧 Less downtime. Repairs happen in hours, not weeks.
📏 Consistent quality. Regular maintenance protects critical dimensions and part-to-part repeatability.
💰 Longer tool life. Proactive care extends the life of your investment and avoids costly rebuilds.
🤝 Accountability. One team owns both the tool and the parts it produces.

For 60 years, customers in defense, automotive, sporting goods, telecom, agriculture, and industrial markets have trusted us with their tooling. On-site toolroom support is a big part of why.

Have a mold that needs a new home, or a program that needs more reliable support? Let’s talk.

Every great grip starts with a solid core. 💪
Here’s a polypropylene handle coming off one of our presses. Next it gets overmolded in TPE, and then it heads into a line of exercise equipment.
The PP gives it strength and rigidity. The TPE adds a soft-touch, non-slip grip that holds up to sweat, chalk and thousands of reps.

Today we’re molding radioactive divider lenses.

Actually, they’re not radioactive, but the edge glow color concentrate we are using it pretty cool.

This marks our 60th year in business.

While celebrating this milestone, we’ve been reflecting on our roots.

In 1966, our founder, Bill Wilson, opened a small tool shop focused on tight-tolerance injection molds. He quickly saw that the best way to accelerate the expansion of his company was to look beyond just tool making. By the early 1970s, he began investing heavily in injection molding machinery, laying the foundation for what Montrose has become today.

Over the decades, Bill led with a quiet, rugged style — focused on hard work, accountability, and building a place where people genuinely enjoyed showing up every day. He built more than a company — he built a culture and a legacy that has impacted thousands of employees, customers, and partners.

As we celebrate 60 years, we’re proud to carry that legacy forward.

The tools may be more advanced. The technology has evolved. The industry continues to change - but the core principles Bill built this company on remain the same: Do the work right the first time. Take care of your customers. Take care of your people.

Here’s to 60 years — and to continuing to build on the foundation Bill started.
