The SLO Coast wine region is defined by the maritime influence on our vines, not by the lines on a map: fog, wind, earth and sea all do their part to extend our growing season and intensify character, resulting in wines with bright fruit, vibrant acidity and complex flavors. You’ll find San Luis Obispo County halfway between San Francisco and Los Angeles on California’s pristine Central Coast. Our

wine region occupies that narrow strip of land between the sea and the slopes of the Santa Lucia Mountains, running some 60 miles from San Simeon in the north to Nipomo in the south. The SLO Coast wineries are spread out along the area’s backcountry roads, amid rolling hills lined with vineyards and orchards. This is the laid-back California landscape of the past — with a geology and climate ideally suited to serious wine making. Several of the SLO Coast wineries are open to walk-in tasters. However, we highly recommend that you call ahead or reserve online with your favorite tasting rooms to ensure a spot while visitor capacities are limited.

We're highlighting the growers, families, and vineyards that make the SLO Coast so special. This week's Winery of the Week: 🍷

🌅 August 21 — The final Sunset Hours of the season. Live music from Emily Smith, Center of Effort wines, and a summer evening on the Estate. Don't miss the last one. RSVP on their website.

🍽️ Through September — A new Seasonal Lunch & Wine Pairing menu, created in collaboration with Pasolivo, featuring their estate olive oils woven through a five-course experience. Available Thursday–Sunday.

The SLO Coast is one of the only places in the world where wine country and the Pacific Ocean are minutes apart. Edna Valley in the morning. Pismo Beach by 2pm. A couple bottles of something you discovered today open by sunset. That's a perfect day.
