Mayor Michael Razze & EDC Chair Jeff Sanders were delighted to present Crystal Bidic, Owner of Crystal Jay’s Salon and Spa with a window cling, in recognition of her two years as a successful Pitman business.

If you haven't stopped by to see this beautiful space yet, put down your phone and check it out today!!!

Hair styling for both women & men, facials, massage, even a chance for you to request some old school vinyl to play during your appointment.

Crystal and her family designed this salon, and added several thoughtful small touches to honor her father Jay’s memory, as he was her inspiration.

Congratulations, Crystal, wishing you many years of success in your beautiful Pitman location!

It was great to see former Borough Councilman (and LONG TIME Painter Extraordinaire) Walt Madison with a brush in his hand once again!

One needn't look very far to see Walt's handiwork ALL OVER inside and outside of the Theatre, as he played a HUGE part in its restoration!!

To paraphrase the old expression, Walt literally gave broken bones, sweat and tears to prepare the Theatre for its grand reopening nearly twenty years ago.

Thank you, Walt !!!

Tis the season of lemonade stands!

Be sure to stop out and support these young businessmen on the 500 block of Ardmore Ave. They'll be out selling until about 3pm...or while supplies last. Mayor Razze highly recommends their homemade lemonade!

Tonight we had the chance to meet Tom & Beth Ronketty, Proprietors of Artisan's Oasis, Pitman Ave & Broadway, and present them with their 1 year window cling. A bit misleading, as they were formerly located at East Holly and Broadway.

Most locals know this building as the former Bob's Hobby Shop, while many of our "longer term" folks recall this as Sun Ray Drugs. Some may even remember it as Dilkes Pharmacy.

This building, constructed in 1894, has been several different things in its time, and is the very epicenter of "Uptown Pitman."

There is SO MUCH to see inside, so if you're planning to drop by, block out some time!

If talk of Spirits and Spectres interest you, you HAVE to stop in and ask Beth about her experiences there!

Congratulations, Tom & Beth, may you enjoy many years in Pitman!!

Mayor Razze stopped out today to support a couple more young entrepreneurs in Pitman. Be sure to stop by the corner of Wildwood and Broadway this morning to pick up some delicious lemonade and grab yourself an awesome Pitman keychain! They're only there until about noon, so don't delay!

Amy Simpson, Proprietor of Amystical Journey Shoppe , on the corner or North Broadway & Holly Aves, proudly displays her 1 year window cling presented to her by EDC recently.

If you're looking for nearly ANY type of unique gift for that "super hard to buy for person", or something to help you on your journey thru this thing called Life, check this place out soon!!

EDC was given a complete tour when we stopped by, and were really impressed with how much space Amy has here, and were equally impressed for the plans she has to make this an even more versatile and welcoming space.

"GIVE US THE HISTORY!!!" I hear you shout. Ok then. In consulting Pitman's Unofficial Town Historian, Miss Higbee, she told us that "Izzy Kotler owned the store for many years, selling everything from appliances to "miscellaneous sundry items". (Don't pass on the chance to educate yourself, look up "sundry")

Going WAY WAY BACK, Miss Higbee said that was first known as the Harker House, one of several Pitman restaurants in business at the time to feed the thousands of Camp Meeting attendees at the Grove. Legend has it they were very well-known for their Chicken Pot Pie.

Personally speaking, I think a 24/7 restaurant ONLY serving Chicken Pot Pie, and for that matter, super thick milkshakes that keep a spoon standing, is sorely needed here...

Congratulations, Amy, wishing you many years of success here in town!!

Today's EDC spotlight shines on Groff's Millpond Nursery and Landscape Company .

Ray Groff's parents started the business in 1959 out of their home, bought the historic Mill Pond property in 1962 (built by Thomas Reeves in 1863!), and soon became THE go-to spot for first class nursery stock, flowers and gardening needs.
Business remains strong today with full landscaping services among their top offerings.

Pitman history tie-in? In 1897, the dam built on Reeves Pond on this property provided electric power for the Pitman Grove Camp Meeting, which attracted up to 10,000 visitors during the Meeting season, with many becoming year-round residents of our young town.

Notoriously camera-shy EDC Chairman Jeff Sanders had to be talked into joining Ray for this picture.
