1. Assistance to Firefighters Grant (AFG): Applications Due December 20, 2024
The FY 2024 AFG Program, administered by FEMA, is a cornerstone of funding for fire departments, EMS organizations, and State Fire Training Academies. This program focuses on enhancing firefighter safety and operational efficiency by providing resources for training, personal protective equipment (PPE), fire apparatus, and facility upgrades.
Since 2018, the AFG Program has delivered over $8.7 billion in funding, supporting thousands of organizations with: 150,000 PPE items, 800+ fire apparatuses, and Wellness and fitness initiatives for firefighter health.

2. American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA): Obligation Deadline December 31, 2024
The ARPA’s State and Local Fiscal Recovery Funds (SLFRF) provide critical support for pandemic recovery efforts. Allocated by the U.S. Department of Treasury, these funds must be obligated by December 31, 2024, and fully expended by December 31, 2026. Eligible expenses include government services, revenue loss recovery, and investments in critical infrastructure.
