Hello, Humans! I’m undergoing a personal challenge to support a really rad cause in my community.
TL;DR: I’m gonna do some climbing on my bike, and I’m asking you, my community, to sponsor a foot (or more) of elevation to be donated to the making of the pilot of Hello, Humans!. Anyone who donates will be entered into a raffle to receive a free piano tuning from me. More info below.
On Wednesday, October 6 I will drop off my daughter at preschool and drive back to Riverview Park near my home, where I plan to ride the road loop up the the observatory repeatedly until I have surpassed my previous personal record for vertical ascent in a single ride, 7,241 feet. My rough calculations estimate it will take 30 repeats and 5-6 hours to get there. The idea for this particular challenge came from the , which has seen participants with far more questionable sanity than I. Cyclists, if you are able, please come join me for a lap or ten! I'll be at it from 9am to at least 3.
The cause: my friend and neighbor, Mark Williams, is creating a pilot for a kids TV show about mindfulness called Hello, Humans! If you know Mark at all, you know that this show needs to get made! (It’s going to be Mr.-Rogers-inspired. We all adore Mr. Rogers. Mark is absolutely the dude who’s gonna do this right.)
