Hi folks, while waiting for spring to set in, here's an event not to miss! -The Startup Weekend on March 28-30. There's a 20% discount for designers with the code SWPGHDESIGN at registration.

Startup Weekend is business idea competition in which teams have 54 hours to create a business model, design, prototype, code, validate, and pitch their product ideas. (You don't need to have an idea yourself to participate.) Designers are definitely in demand at this event! Details can be found at pgh.startupweekend.org.

This year's chapter student merit awards were held at the Margaret Morrison Hall, located in of the Carnegie Mellon University campus. On the 6th of March, three students presented their work to a panel of leading design professionals from the city of Pittsburgh.
