While there are many fine tax professionals and investment and financial professionals in business today, very few are able to “work both sides of the aisle” at the same time in order to make clients money, and allow them to keep more of it. Changes in the economic direction those in Washington D.C. are taking us, will warrant different strategies and tactics than those that were effective for the better part of the past 20 or so years. Taxes, in all of their forms (income, property, sales, etc.), already most people’s biggest expense, are increasing. Investment returns have been volatile. In case you might have been wondering where taxes might go after 2026, now you know. Right now, the tax rates on capital gains and qualified dividends is as follows:

0% on those with taxable income up to $47,026

15% on those with taxable incomes between $47,027-$518.900 which is most of us

20% on those with taxable incomes over $518,900

Corporate tax rates increase from a flat 21% to 28%

The job of a financial services company and representative is to act in the best interests of their clients, not to participate in political correctness.

Sometimes investments in "taboo" industries such as oil, to***co, fi****ms, alcoholic beverages, soft drinks and processed foods, and defense companies promise the best yield per dollar invested. Further, sometimes such companies do not score high in the "social credit" metrics. Some of those companies also might not have the most diverse workforce.

If you don't want to invest in such industries, then those parameters can be implemented in YOUR portfolio, but others should be able to invest in such industries if they don't have limitations on doing so.

It is their money and their choice.

Effective leadership requires open communication and consideration of the needs of those under one's charge.
