We are nonprofit experts and strategists, not AI gurus. And that distinction matters.

We had the privilege of sitting in a room full of incredible nonprofit professionals whose depth of knowledge is truly priceless. The conversations, the questions, the lived experience in that room reminded us exactly why this work matters.

💡 We came to lead a conversation, not to teach. Because the expertise was already in the room, and it is Human-Led.

To every nonprofit leader and board member who joined us: thank you. You are the reason this work is worth doing. Special thanks to AFP Collier-Lee for inviting us, and to Northern Trust for hosting!

Cheering on Pamela Ayers and Trisha Botty, MA, who will lead a discussion on AI in the nonprofit sector this week on September 23, hosted by AFP Collier-Lee Chapter. 👣

Proud to see our team shaping this conversation!

25 years ago, our nation experienced something that's still hard to put into words. In the same moment, we also saw what courage and community truly look like.

We remember those we lost, and we honor the responders, helpers, and neighbors who turned toward each other. 🇺🇸

Happy Labor Day! 🤎

Today, we're thinking of the nonprofit leaders and philanthropists we're proud to work alongside. The ones showing up every day, often with limited resources, to move their missions forward.

Your labor doesn't always come with a paycheck that matches the impact you make. So today, we see you, and we're grateful for the work you do.

Thank you for letting us walk alongside you in that work. 👣

Nearly 14 million children in the United States may not have access to the food they need to grow up strong.

This National Food Bank Day and throughout September, National Hunger Month, we recognize the extraordinary work of food banks and organizations working every day to address food insecurity in our communities! 🍎

No child, family, or individual should have to face hunger. We are especially grateful for organizations like Harry Chapin Food Bank of Southwest Florida, Inc. and the many organizations and community partners working to ensure more people have access to the food and resources they need. 🤎

Happy National Dog Day! 🐶

As we celebrate the unconditional love and joy that dogs bring into our lives, we’d love to recognize two incredible organizations doing amazing work for our four-legged friends: Lollypop Farm, the Humane Society of Greater Rochester and The SPCA Serving Erie County, NY.

Thank you for everything you do to rescue, protect, care for, and find loving homes for animals in need. We’re grateful for the difference you make in our communities every day!

We are proud to see East House lead the way in expanding access to mental health Clubhouses across New York State.

Clubhouses enrich the lives of people living with mental illness by providing opportunities for employment, socialization, education, skill development, housing, and improved wellness.

East House was awarded one of the largest of six grants in New York State to create a new Clubhouse. A remarkable recognition of its strong leadership and history of service supporting recovery from mental health and substance use disorders.

Congratulations to Jamie Comenale and the entire East House team. And thank you to WXXI Public Broadcasting Council News for highlighting this important work.

We’re excited to see continued investment in mental health services across New York State!

Our Chief Program Officer, Jamie Comenale, recently joined WXXI’s Connections with Evan Dawson to discuss New York State’s increased funding for mental health clubhouses and the important role these community-based programs can play in recovery.

As East House works to establish a new mental health clubhouse in our community, we’re proud to be part of the conversation and look forward to expanding opportunities for connection, purpose, and support.

🌎 Our latest newsletter sits down with Pam Ayers, EVP of Strategic Initiatives, for a Q&A on turning mission into meaningful messaging.

With more than 25 years in human services, Pam brings a human-centered approach to grant writing, program development, and strategy. In the Q&A, she shares her best advice for nonprofits:

"Fight that scarcity mindset. Look at your work through an ecological lens: how does your agency contribute to the health of the entire local system?"

Plus, a fun fact you might not expect from a grants expert — Pam completed a full Iron Man, then qualified for the Boston Marathon just six weeks later. 🏃🏽‍♀️
