The most common questions I hear:
"How much do you charge to DJ a wedding?"
I can't honestly answer that without hearing what your needs are. Some couples require multiple sound systems, others want an extra hour or two, some ask if you will drive to Philly, etc There are simply too many variables.
So how much should you pay for quality entertainment? (by that I mean a DJ that with a fun, interactive personality on mic and acts as MC. If they don't offer that, then they're just a regular DJ, not a wedding DJ)
I've always tried to ask a price that I consider fair for the entertainment and uniqueness that I will bring to your event. But now I am hearing brides dishing out $3,000 and more for a 5 hour reception. Wow!
I haven't changed my pricing in years and have never had an unhappy bride. And in certain months, (the slow months), I take hundreds of my fee:
