Even though there is snow on the ground spring is here. Time to start thinking about seeding and fertilizing. Before any of that can happen we must do a soil test to see where we stand with our ph level. Low levels of ph can lead to wasting money and no lawn or pasture to show for. Ph levels in the 4 to 4.5 waste 70% of the fertilizer you put down. Lime comes in various forms such as pulverized, granular,pelletized, and liquid. Aug 15, 2012. I started driving around looking at some pastures, and have begun to see the affects of the drought. Heavy w**ds in pastures with very to no grass at all. Now is the time to start thinking about using w**d killer before fall seeding. For those of you that don t know there are three products out there that you can spray on horse pastures. The other item is the seed being used in these pastures. Make sure your getting improved varieties that can handle close grazing. We are set up for these task and can handle them promplty.
