We’re excited to be hosting a free expungement clinic alongside Assemblywoman Tennille McCoy, Wednesday, August 19 at Saint Phillips Baptist Church in Hamilton! Attorney’s from the New Jersey Office of the Public Defender will be on site screening for expungement and filing petitions for eligible individuals.

This week we held the 5th clinic of our second annual Summer of Freedom Expungement series, marking our last for the month of July, so it only feels right to take a moment to reflect and say thank you. These events would not be possible without the fearless leadership of New Jersey’s Public Defender Jen Sellitti, who has made it her mission to expand access to second chances for residents across the state. Without her brilliant and tireless PDs who file the actual expungements, the legislators who help to get the word out and the community partners who donate their space for the day we wouldn’t be able to hold these events.

To anyone who has shared a flyer, staffed an event or supported these efforts in anyway, thank you!! Together we have helped hundreds of individuals take the next step towards a better future.

Today, thanks to the help of , , and Archer & Greiner, residents from Bloomfield and around New Jersey were connected with free expungement services, opening doors to new opportunities and a true fresh start. One individual even traveled all the way from Georgia!

We're partnering with Stono Public Affairs, the NJ Office of the Public Defender, and UVSO to help individuals with prior arrests or convictions clear their criminal records. Eligible participants will have certain records expunged, which can remove barriers to employment, housing, and other opportunities.
