As we approach this time of year, my focus shifts to scrutinizing weather trends in pursuit of promising signs for the upcoming season. The latest predictions indicate a swift progression towards El Niño conditions by May. An examination of analogous years reveals patterns similar to those observed in 1957, 1972, 1997, 2002, 2015, and 2023. Pray for rain and hopefully we will get something like 1997!!

Many believe that organic corn can yield as much as conventional corn. Historically, from 1865-1940, all crops were essentially organic. Advances in agricultural technology have enabled us to feed the global population. Without modern pesticides and genetically modified crops, a significant portion of the population would face starvation. Fortunately, consumers in this country have access to both options, allowing them to make informed choices. It's essential to acknowledge the progress made in agriculture that provides these options.
