Back-to-school season is about more than buying supplies. It's a reminder to get organized before schedules fill up and the pace picks up.

Your business can benefit from the same kind of reset.

Inactive user accounts, outdated documentation, unclear responsibilities and postponed technology decisions might not seem urgent today. But once Q4 gets underway, small issues have a way of turning into bigger problems.

Our latest blog highlights six areas worth reviewing now, while there's still time to get ahead of the year-end rush.

If you know someone who could benefit from a pre-Q4 review, feel free to forward this email to them.

The businesses that finish the year strong start preparing now. Book a 10-minute discovery call and let's get started.

You don’t need a sophisticated hacker targeting your business to be at risk.

You just need one employee reusing a password.

That’s all it takes to expose your entire network, your data, and your clients.

The scary part? Most businesses have no idea where they’re vulnerable until it’s too late.

The good news: it’s fixable.

A quick security check can uncover the gaps and help you lock things down before they become a problem.

AI is powerful, but it still needs boundaries.

More teams are starting to use AI in their day-to-day work.

That’s not a bad thing if it’s used the right way.

But without a few simple guardrails, it’s easy for things to slip:
🚩 Content going out without review
🚩 Sensitive information being shared
🚩 Tools being used without anyone really knowing

It doesn’t take much to avoid it:
•Decide which AI tools are approved in your company
•Make sure anything client-facing gets reviewed
•Be clear about what should never be entered

AI can save time...but it still needs structure.

👉 A few simple rules now can prevent bigger issues later.

We’ve all heard some version of these before 😅

And to be fair, sometimes that is part of the process.

But when your business is on the line, you need more than guesses, delays and “let’s see what happens.”

You need clear answers, real solutions and someone who gets to the root of the problem.

LanSource Cyber Security Tip: Don’t store passwords in your browser

Storing passwords (and credit cards) in your browser is not ideal for two reasons.

First, anyone who snoops around your computer can log in to accounts you have. Second, Chrome is not a highly secure application, and there are many applications and websites that can strip your passwords from your browser.

We recommend using a professional-grade password manager such as 1Password. That way you can have complex passwords stored in a way that makes you a lot less vulnerable to a breach.

It’s coming. That day a hacker steals critical data that renders your office useless… That day when your bank account or credit card is compromised… Or that day when your customers’ private lives are uprooted.

Shark Week is a good reminder that calm water doesn’t always mean nothing dangerous is happening under the surface.

The same is true inside your business, too.

The risk usually looks routine at first: an invoice from a vendor your team recognizes, a login request that lands when someone’s distracted or a third-party connection no one has checked in months.

Summer makes those risks easier to miss. People are out, approvals shift and everyone’s trying to keep work moving.

That’s when attackers start circling.

Our latest blog explains three ways cybercriminals are targeting businesses like yours right now and what you can do to spot the danger earlier.

Know someone whose business looks calm on the surface? Forward this to them. It could help them spot what may be moving underneath.

Calm water doesn’t mean safe water. Book a 10-minute discovery call, and we’ll help you see where your business is exposed.

On the surface, the water looks calm. That's what makes Shark Week fascinating every year. The danger is never visible on the surface. It's what's already moving underneath.

IT that gets attention only when something breaks, isn’t strategy. It’s survival mode.

Here are 5 warning signs your technology might be fragile:

•You hear from IT only when there’s a problem
•Passwords are shared in emails
•No one knows when equipment should be replaced
•Backups haven’t been tested
•Employees complain about slow systems

Technology should reduce stress, not create it.

If even two of these feel familiar, it may be time for a reset!

We just want:
