Had a great time attending Top Achievers Foundation event meeting so many new faces of those making a great impact in the community.

Pictured here is Osa Odighizuwa of the Dallas Cowboys whose work with the Odighizuwa Foundation serves single Moms and their children dedicated to maximize the valuable potential by supporting initiatives that affords them equitable access to education, resources and opportunities. Looking forward to a possible collaboration with Moms Raising Successful Sons Inc. in the future.

I've had a burning desire to help single moms for many many years. Raising my boys as a single mom is not easy. I am godly proud of my two sons and sometimes people often ask me "how I did it". I don't believe there's a one-size-fits-all approach to raising sons to be successful men - I can only share what I did. Looking back I just did what had to be done (no false humility here). It was not easy and I had help...a lot of help and prayer. I was very strategic on WHAT I did and prayed for the best outcomes. I was NOT PERFECT but I did my best. Now I want to help other single moms on their path to raising successful sons.

My goal is to impact FAMILIES. If you know me, you know

Just like an relationship, you won't know until you know.

Sometimes, you wonโ€™t know if the person you hired will work out until youโ€™ve given them a chance. Give them the opportunity to succeed!

One thing that's evident about is that it is the "letting go" of something, someone, an idea, a belief, a process, a season, etc.

As leaders you're expected to execute and manage projects, ideas and goals.

One problem I see with leaders is that the "emotional connection" to what WAS is NOT considered or even discussed in determining how to enter into a new season, strategy or system of doing things. Phrases like way things "used to be" or getting "back to normal" is what we hear most often these days.

The attachment to what was is incomplete and we drag old beliefs, attitudes and actions into the "new" without understanding the process of the old and wonder why change is not happening.

People process change differently, but it's worth examing if might be an issue that's impacting your organization's ability to execute and move forward in 2022.

How is your organization managing the impact of change?

On my walk ๐Ÿšถโ€โ™‚๏ธ this morning I took a new path that I wasn't familiar with.

The uncertainty of where the path lead, was it safe, how long would it take for me to get back to my starting point...these questions were on my mind. I was on higher alert than no

What I realized is how "uncertainty" is so uncomfortable but how exciting it can be if we approach it with CoMPLETE curiosity. The struggle is to balance the emotions of fear of the unknown with the excitement of something NEW. When we're unsure of the future that we're transitioning to we feel a loss of control. Our nervous system is off and it can stress us out physically, emotionally and spiritually.

This is happening with people, your people, your team.

How do you care for them while transitioning?

โžก๏ธ Model for them in language and deed what curiosity looks like.
โžก๏ธ Acknowledge that it is uncomfortable and that change is unlearning what no longer works while learning what serves us going forward.
โžก๏ธ Ask questions...lots of questions. Try to get your people into their logical brain instead of their feeling brain to look for solutions.

Uncomfortableness is not always a bad thing.

Uncertainty can open the door to newness while navigating the pain of change.

Unlearning is acknowledgement that something new is better than what has been.

Change can be good or bad depending on your perspective. I believe most of the world knows by now during the past 15 months that some change is totally out of our control.

We've had to adapt out of survival.
We've had to make some tough decisions.
We've had to have some hard conversations.

If you lead people one thing that is entirely in your control is the culture and environment you create for change.

How capable do your people feel with change?

One thing our team of consultants, trainers and coaches focuses on most is looking at leadership through the lens of relationships.

Relationships can be defined as "the way in which two or more people, groups, countries, etc., talk to, behave toward, and deal with each other".

Relationships are established on two levels:

Humanity
Roles
..in that order.

If you have the role and responsibility of a business owner, teacher, parent, boss, executive, etc., how you learn and relate to others is key to your effectiveness on your leadership journey and getting results through people.

What lens do you tend to focus on most in evaluating relationships in your business and life?

โฐ Could It Be Time To Review Our Relationships?

One of my wise mentors once said to me, "Relationships are Everything". I didn't know what he meant at that time but as I recently celebrated another birthday I pondered this statement t deeply and found other areas in where relationships should be reflected upon to see if they are serving us or not.

What worked in one season of our lives and businesses may not work in another.

I came up wit this list of 10 Relationships to Always Consider as a thinking guide in how you might be showing up in your relationships.

Which ones matter most to you?๐Ÿค”
